SBCA is pleased to announce October housing starts and building permit data is now available online! Below is a summary.

U.S.
October housing starts (released November 17) increased 13.7% to 1,290,000 units. Single-family starts increased 5.3% to 877,000 units, while multi-family increased by 36.8% to 413,000 units. Total U.S. permits, an indicator of future construction, increased by 5.9% to 1,297,000 units (SAAR).

Starts increased in 3 regions:
•    Northeast (+ 42.2%)
•    Midwest (+ 18.4%)
•    South (+ 17.2%)
•    West (- 3.7%)
