SBCA is pleased to announce the June housing starts and building permit data is now available online!

Below is a summary.

U.S.

June housing starts (released July 18) decreased 12.3% to 1,173,000 units. Single-family starts decreased 9.1% to 858,000 units, while multi-family decreased by 19.8% to 315,000 units. Total U.S. permits, an indicator of future construction, decreased by 2.2% to 1,273,000 units (SAAR).

Starts decreased all regions:

• Northeast (- 6.8%)
• Midwest (- 35.8%)
• South (- 9.1%)
• West (- 3.0%)
